In a galaxy not so far far away Star Wars: The Force Awakens has become the highest grossing movie of all time in domestic box office in United Sates of America. It’s been 40 years since the first movie “Star Wars: A New Hope” was released and since then I has become one of the America’s favorite movie. The new Star Wars Movie came with lots of expectations and hype and looking at its Box Office it seems that they have fulfilled the hopes of the fans.

Star Wars: The Force Awaken has broken the record of Avatar in just 20 days. Avatar earned $760.50 Million and Star Wars overtook the record by grossing $8 Million on Tuesday. Avatar was released in December 20009 and it took seven month to reach the number which was broken by Star Wars in just 20 days.

With Star Wars going crazy on Box Office, the domestic revenue of Hollywood in year 2015 has hit a record $11 Billion. Not just day Star Wars have almost broken all the record in Hollywood, The movie now holds the records for biggest opening day at the domestic box office ($119.1 million), biggest opening weekend at the domestic box office ($247.96 million), and biggest IMAX opening at the domestic box office ($30.1 million). Star Wars: The Force Awaken also broke the fastest $1 Billion record, it reached in record 12 days.

Worldwide it is still a long road for Star Wars to break Avatar’s record. Avatar has earned $2.78 Billion World wide while Star Wars is just at $1.56 Billion. But according to the Hollywood insiders, Star Wars is likely to break Avatar’s record. The movie is still not released in China where it got a main market in Asia. On 9th Jan the movie will be released in China and we can hope to see a sudden rise in Global Box Office of Star Wars.

The Force Awaken is the first film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy which is being made by Disney and LucasFilm. The Original Trilogy includes “A New Hope (1977)”, “The Empire Strikes Back (1980)” and “Return of Jedi (1989)”. After that Star Wars became global phenomena and people just went crazy for the film. Later in later 90’s and early 2000’s Star Wars was in cinema with its prequel, “The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clone (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005). Although the new movies didn’t make the fans happy but they earned millions of money on Box Office. The combined Box Office Revenue of Star Wars in $4.38 Billon. Star Wars has a very special place in America’s history, it not just a move it’s a part of their culture.
