  • 1 1/2 cup unsalted, roasted peanuts
  • One tsp. honey
  • One tsp. Safflower oil

For this take unsalted peanuts in the required quantity and using your high-speed blender process the peanut to make it into peanut butter. Please note that the peanuts undergo several changes when you are processing it in your blender.

First, you will see that the peanuts look like a one messy blob, when you process it further this blob will turn into a paste-like dough. Keep processing for another 2-3 minute so that peanuts would form a thicker paste and finally oils would be released to make it peanut butter.

Do not stop your processor when you first see the thicker dough thinking that it is the consistency required. The more Adhesive dough would be difficult to handle hence keep processing until oil is out and it looks like butter. Please note, your blender or food processor might get hot while you are continuously using it. You can switch it off and let it cool before you proceed.

Ingredients Required

  • 2 cups of wheat flour (or you can use all-purpose flour if your dog does not like wheat)
  • 1 cup of oats
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1 1/4 cups hot water


Preheat your oven to 350° F. First step is to mix wheat flour and oats together in a bowl. To this mixture add peanut butter and hot water to make the dough. The consistency of the dough should not be too sticky. You may add additional dough to make the dough smoother.

Knead the dough very well and spread out the dough so that you can cut out different shapes of dog treats as you need. There are some readily available shape cutters which you can use to carve out the shape which your dog prefers. Since the dough will only be about half an inch, it will be easy to cut out any shapes you want.

Take out a cookie sheet and brush butter on it for baking. Spread out the shapes you have cut out on the cookie sheet and bake it in your oven for about 40 minutes. You can switch off your oven after 40 minutes, however, let the cookies remain inside for 4-5 hours to cool down. Please note, the dough can get sticky making it difficult to knead. In this case, you can add more flour or keep kneading it till the dough is soft.
